EOC Limited – th November to st
Blevins Franks EOC is an Accountancy
Practice which does work for UK based companies, mainly UK registered
service companies and personal tax clients which are mostly UK residents.
I joined this company
in November and I have had several roles during the time I have
been employed with the company. I promoted to a management role in January
As a member of management
I take part in the overall management of the company and help to ensure
that the overall operations of the company are conducted in a way to
ensure we meet the company’s targets and objectives.
My main responsibilities include:
Producing monthly management
accounts for the company, including week cashflow forecasts and annual
Profit and Loss budgets for the company.
Keeping up to date with tax
changes and updates in the UK, understanding any changes and their implications,
find a way to inform clients of the changes and train other members
of staff about such changes and any impact on their work.
Attending regular Tax Seminars
in the UK.
Reviewing tax advice given
by other members of the company, before this is sent out to the clients,
to ensure that it is of the standard required and to assess whether
there is room for further improvement.
On an ongoing basis, analyse
how certain tasks are performed, including software applications used,
and analyse whether there is a more efficient way to perform such tasks.
Training other member of staff.
Major tasks that were assigned to me:
Outsourcing of some of
the work. Over the past months I have lead the company through
a major change where we analysed all the work that we do for our clients
to identify the task that were mostly mechanical and could therefore
be outsourced. This task was very challenging and involved:
Identifying which tasks could
Communicating with the company
that the work was outsourced to, to ensure we got the desired result
Keeping the staff in the office
motivated and make sure that no one felt their job was at risk
Integration of all software
applications we used. As a company we were using different packages
by different providers to do different tasks. This meant we had more
than one database and therefore were not as efficient as we could be.
I was assigned the task to find a way to make this more efficient. This
Analysing different packages
to identify which package was most suitable for our requirements
Assessing whether the system
IT requirements where compatible with the company’s server specifications
Planning a data conversion
system with the software provider and an implementation plan to install
the system on our server and to change system.
Testing the system after installation
Planning and conducting training
for all the members of staff
Reviewing the system on an
ongoing bases to ensure all members of staff are using the new system
Prior to this role, I worked as an
Accountant from June to December , which position meant I
was responsible for a portfolio of clients. Prior to this, I had the
position of Junior Accountant from November to May .
Farsons Group – February – November
I had joined Foodchain holdings in February
as an Accounting Technician. My job involved credit control, inputting
of data into Sage accounting package, and assisting in the preparation
of monthly management accounts. I left the company in November
and to move to Blevins Franks EOC Ltd.
I am a person who always enjoys a challenge
and I am able to learn new things quite easily. I do not mind doing
that extra effort to make things better.
I love to meet new people and always
enjoy a good discussion with people who know their subjects well.
In my free time I enjoy reading a good
book, going for walks near the sea and listening to music.
