          Selected Accomplishments

  • Achieved $ million in cost savings for the West Monroe mill by the successful creation and implementation of a more diverse transportation model that used all forms of material delivery. The plan was secure, innovative and required “outofthebox” thinking to get hedge contracts with local suppliers against weather related high raw material cost.
  • Brought forth and developed a cost saving project with cross divisional line process improvement at the Macon, Georgia mill. This project produced savings of $ million per year and made possible a completely new wood yard operating system.  Project savings was achieved by increasing board quality and pulp yield, reducing freight charges, and avoiding environmental cleanup costs.

  • Reestablished this mill as a reliable point for suppliers at budget cost after the previous two managers had failed to meet expectations. Increased production nearly % and eliminated $, per year in rail shipping penalties.
  • Built a new staff of hardwood buyers that purchased directly from timber owners and from wood suppliers in combination to repair the company image stabilize production.
  • Generated annual wood cost savings of more than $, from outside sales of hardwood logs and biomass and provided a marketing wood analysis report and general forestry management assistance to help landowners make informed decisions on timber sales.
