Areas of Interest

Improve bioethanol production from biomass crops such as sugarcane and energy cane though plant based technologies for high level expression of cell wall degrading enzymes and reducing the cost associated with ethanol production from biomass crops. Use of biochemical and molecular biology tools to understand and improve abiotic stress tolerance in plants.
