I am a Banking Executive with over years of Banking experience in India, Nigeria and
Kenya out of which years with State Bank of India in Retail Banking, Corporate
Banking, International Banking, Product Development and Implementation.
I have extensive knowledge, understanding and practice of Relationship Banking and Risk
Management, particularly of Credit Risk and Operational Risk. I have five years of working
experience as CEO in Banks in Nigeria and Kenya; also achieved turnaround and profitability on

Executive Director Business Development
UBA Kenya Bank Ltd., is % owned subsidiary of UBA Plc, an International Bank from
Lagos, Nigeria. As Executive Director Business Development of UBA Kenya, Binay is
responsible for Business Development in Wholesale, Retail and Electronic Banking
segments of the Bank. He therefore interacts with the Multinationals and Big Corporate
Players in Kenya on one hand, and also follows up business leads from the SME and
Retail Sectors. Earlier, as Project Director, he pursued and concluded the licensing
process for UBA Kenya Bank Limited by opening three branches and the Head Office for
the Bank in October . In the process, he was also involved in staff recruitment and
their Inhouse training, Policy Development for the Bank to ensure smooth commencement of
the operations of the Bank from the beginning.
Dec – Sept Oriental Commercial Bank Ltd. Nairobi, Kenya
As CEO of Oriental Commercial Bank, which was a loss making organization since , he
converted the Bank into a profit making organization within moths. He also improved the
rating of the bank from st ranked to th ranked. During his tenure, apart from strmlining the
Operations and Marketing wingof the bank, he also istrengthened the ntroduced Internal Audit &
Inspection Department, where he introduced Inspection Report based on Scoring pattern to
demonstrate the quantitative values of strengths, weaknesses and associated business risks of
the Branch/ functional unit. Binay’s efforts were also recognized externally as the bank was
awarded with Most Efficient Bank nd Runner up Award in .
Oct – Oct Eagle Bank Limited Lagos, Nigeria

He successfully managed a loss making Bank, which was facing the threat of winding up due to
the inability of the Bank’s Board of Directors to fall in line with the directives of the Central Bank.
Despite the severe internal and external challenges, he successfully managed the Bank during
the most difficult period in recent time in the Banking Sector in Nigeria after pronouncement of
Capitalization guidelines by the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN in July . The new guidelines
as well as various follow up actions by the regulators created sudden crisis in the Banking sector,
due to which most of the Banks had serious run on their deposit. During this period, Binay
ensured regular banking services for the customers without any interruptions even for a single
day, despite so many inherent weaknesses of the Bank. The biggest challenge before him was to
maintain regular operation of the bank and to win the confidence of its stakeholders including the
prospective investors.

General Manager Commercial Banking
As General Manager Commercial Banking, Binay was responsible for Business Development
and Credit Control of the Bank. He was also managinf the Trade Finance of the Bank. The Bank
achieved the best growth in the level of business and profitability during his four year tenure,
when he also developed a Credit Risk Assessment/ Analysis Model by incorporating peculiarities
obtained from local market conditions. This model received special recognition by Agusto &
Company, a reputed Credit Rating Agency in Nigeria. He also launched successfully a Product
Dollar Line Import Finance Facility in the bank, which subsequently became the maximum
income generating product for the Bank.

He was one of the members of the Core Team who set up and started the operation of Corporate
