This role was designed to provide management of large, complex projects, or a suite of projects, developing new products, services and capability. There was a strong focus on delivery, execution and customer needs, and a requirement to provide leadership to ensure adherence to project management methodology and processes.   

Project Directors are expected to be able to manage prolonged and complex capability project deliveries encompassing the full range of technology, marketing, process and business change streams, often overseeing other Project Managers who are managing components of the overall result. These assignments include high profile and strategically critical projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding leadership within the practice and the programme
  • Train and provide mentoring to new staff within the wider project management group and within the programme
  • Ensure compliance to corporate architecture, standards and policies. Develop and refine standards, polices and templates
  • Matrix manage a team of Project Managers to a Senior level, Project Administrators and Associate Project Managers
  • Tightly manage the operating and capital expenditure employed within the programme
  • Ensure all projects within the programme are delivered to agreed scope, time and budget
  • Manage large, complex, technical programmes such as building the infrastructure, support processes for brand new product ranges
