Summary of Professional Working Experience:
An animation industry expert, academic and researcher Mark&;s interests are in emergent computer animation techniques including synthetic sculpture, motion and related forms in popular culture. His research interests are in characterization and storytelling with realtime and rendered imagery exploring visual and behavioral representation in the animated form; including the creation of intelligent animated forms with richness in personality and emotive evocative states that are flexible enough to respond to the viewer within a predetermined simulated performance. With a focus on visual aspects of artistic research, he is currently conducting studies that investigate the emotive impact of animated imagery.

IMI International Workshop Exhibition , Artificial Comedy web based character interaction: The content of this work consists of the creation of highly detailed d characters that are interfaced with artificial intelligence. Designed with current "pop" motifs in mind, my focus is in the interplay between simulated and real. Having created the character Nadia for view on the internet in standard web browsers the character has interacted with more than thousand people in the past half year on the site CLONED.net.
IMI International Workshop Exhibition , Creating Socially Relevant Content in the Digital Animation Form: The objective of this project is to use the digital animated form to disseminate knowledge in a unique and entertaining way regarding topical and culturally significant issues. The films created were authored with Machinima filmmaking techniques, creating film narratives at the Kaki Bukit Centre as part of the Singapore Prison School creative development training. These narratives were then reviewed, reedited and scored with audio by students. This project explores the use of animation as a story focused creative learning tool.
