  • I accelerated the testing and qualification of products destined for Seagate harddisc drives to production throughout the entire process, from design of testing to post production support failure analysis. 
  • Managed products in development slated for Seagate drives and in production twice as many as my nearest colleague.  This included the highest volume disc drive in history.
  • Directed products to production, increasing Seagate preamplifier revenue from $ million in to $ million slated for .  Managed % of annual company revenue and % of local revenue.
  • Conducted operations at Agere Systems in the absence of program manager and product engineer for months, resulting in $ million in revenue.  Proactively educated myself of their daily activities and successfully assumed their roles and managed all responsibilities without formal training. 
  • Planned the coordination of ATE testing, bench testing, and assembly of three $ million projects using Gantt charts in Microsoft Project.  These charts showed the most efficient test flow of a product with many parallel paths.  Expedited the planning of one of these projects which was originally drastically behind schedule.  Communicated details to individual contributors and the schedule to management at Agere.
  • Devised a system to test the quality of hardware and software before the arrival of a new product, which resulted in sampling our parts to the customer week earlier.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provided research and development testing for both internal and external customers at Agere Systems. Tested preamplifers versus customer specifications and reported the results back to the crossfunctional team.  Every part revision required the test results to be documented in large engineering change orders ECOs or presentations.  Negotiated specifications of datasheets both internally and with Seagate.  Provided feedback to design about the needs for testability, wrote the test method for new specifications, and designed hardware and software to accommodate new test features. 
  • Presented recommendations of test equipment for purchase resulting in effective measurement at a minimal cost.
  • Completed competitive analyses at Agere Systems, starting with deciding what parameters should be compared, physically measured our part versus the competitive part, and then summarized and presented the data to design engineers and management.
  • Wrote and presented all test coverage plans to the customer while at Agere Systems, ensuring that all datasheet specifications were tested.  This resulted in the datasheet test coverage increasing from to %.
  • Experienced operator of Teradyne automated test equipment ATE and the statistical analysis of the corresponding data, including observation of fabrication defects and trends.
  • Planned, prioritized, and directed hardware design, software design, and bench testing for staff of senior electrical technicians.  Hardware and software was developed for purposes internal evaluation, customer evaluation, and lifetest HTOL.
