Although, research on this material started in early &;s but not much achieved using copper oxide. Low cost, nontoxicity and high absorption qualities of copper oxide drove me interest to choose this as my master thesis. In this work, I mainy focused on studying the electrical and optical properties of the different phases of copper oxide material. Copper oxide sputtered on nSi and glass substrates using CuO target Thin films are annealed at different RTP temperatures, in order to improve film quality and reduce defects Fabrication of front and back contacts by sputtering technique Transmission, reflection and absorption properties are studied using CRIAC Surface morphology study by AFM, XPS, SIMPS, TEM Electrical characteristics are plotted to get Isc and Voc and to know efficiency of the designed solar cell
ACADEMIC PROJECTS Design, fabricate and characterise copper oxide based low cost photovoltaic devicecurrent project Description : Semiconducting phase of copper oxide has attracted me to choose this material for solarcells application. In this work, I mainly focused on studying electrical and optical characteristics of different phases of copper oxide material. Copper target is sputtered on both glass and silicon substrates in order to develop thin film solar cells, which is followed by annealing at different temperatures ranging from °C. The phase of the copper oxide is analysed using XRD and XPS data. I am willng to add carbon nanotubes as contacts in the later stages of the project, which is quite appealing to further improve the efficiency. Technologies: AFM, XRD, Sputtering, RTP, TEM, CRIAC, UVSPECTROSCOPY, XPS Early detection of exudates in fundus image of diabetic retinopathy patientsJan&;may&; Description : The project deals with diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is the cause for blindness in the human. Early detection of it prevents blindness. In this project we present a method which is automatic and involves steps: exudates detection and extraction. The original fundus image is subjected to contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization.
