and supply of power and related water. As the CFO of the holding company,
I am responsible for centralized treasury, raising finance, accounting,
taxation and insurances of subsidiaries.
At my joining, the holding company was without a CFO for more than six
months. On priority, instilled confidence and provided direction to
the demoralised staff, prepared the department’s organisation design

of the largest business house of Oman. This company managed and operated
the two airports of the country. It started as a joint venture between
the best names in the industry and the Government of Oman Gov for
four years. Currently it is owned and operated by the Gov. I played
a key role in the final stages of the documentation and takeover of
the operation from Gov as well as all aspects of subsequent handing
over. Major responsibilities were setting up the new company’s systems,
procedures, management reports; hiring of staff; preparing a year
business plan; purchasing insurances and setting up IT and office infrastructure,
building a good working relationship with shareholders and Government.
Reporting was to the CEO and was a member of the executive and tender
committee and responsible to the Boards’ Audit Committee for compliances,
corporate governance, risk assessment and internal audit. I also supported
the Commercial Director in finalising concessions to operators for providing
goods and services at the airport and leasing of space.
