Strengths: I am a self driven, result oriented, professionally qualified person with experience in diverse industries, these being power & water, airport management, trading, manufacturing industrial & medical equipments and leasing. 

I have strong domain knowledge in treasury, credit control, IFRS based accounting, commercial aspects of property management, designing and procuring insurances, IT system implementation, and a start up specialist with hands on experience on legal documentationdrafting and review, setting up policies, procedures and systems. Experience: With a post qualification experience of years, my career details, starting with the present one, are as follow: 

.  Since August working for the country’s largest power sector Group engaged in generation, transmission, distribution and supply of power and related water. As the CFO of the holding company, I am responsible for centralized treasury, raising finance, accounting, taxation and insurances of subsidiaries.  

 Achievements: At my joining, the holding company was without a CFO for more than six months. On priority, instilled confidence and provided direction to the demoralised staff, prepared the department’s organisation design and hired staff members at all levels. Completed previous years’ pending audit of a few subsidiaries and planned for the nearing yearend. Designed and issued for the first time, Management Accounts of the Group. Completed the first time production and audit of Regulatory financial statements; Worked simultaneously on the production of HR manual and completed Oracle i implementation.

 Thereafter streamlined the Budgeting and Cash flow management, improved deployment of large surplus funds with increased returns, and reorganised bank facilities. Also completed procurement of five large value and complex insurances and secured ISO certification. 

 Successfully led the settlement of a large claim on the Group, for % of the claim amount.  

 I represent the Holding company at the Board and Internal Audit committee meetings of subsidiaries.  I am a Board Member in one of the subsidiaries which operates mini power stations to serve the rural areas in the country. 

 I have just concluded purchase of controlling stake in a vertically integrated electricity company and now working on a strategy to acquire the balance shareholding held by public and pension trusts. 

 I am leading a team deployed to produce IFRS based financial statements and books of accounts of the Water department of the Government of Oman with an objective to ultimately be responsible for providing it regular financial and accounting services. 

 Having just secured a bridge finance of USD million, I am currently working on a year funding strategy to raise USD million required for the large capex needs of the Group.  

 During the last years I have managed investment of surplus funds in excess of USD million outstanding at any point in time. 

. January August worked as Finance Director not a Board Member at Oman  Airports’ Management Company, originally being a nominee of the largest business house of Oman. This company managed and operated the two airports of the country. It started as a joint venture between the best names in the industry and the Government of Oman Gov for four years. Currently it is owned and operated by the Gov. I played a key role in the final stages of the documentation and takeover of the operation from Gov as well as all aspects of subsequent handing over. Major responsibilities were setting up the new company’s systems, procedures, management reports; hiring of staff; preparing a year business plan; purchasing insurances and setting up IT and office infrastructure, building a good working relationship with shareholders and Government. Reporting was to the CEO and was a member of the executive and tender committee and responsible to the Boards’ Audit Committee for compliances, corporate governance, risk assessment and internal audit. I also supported the Commercial Director in finalising concessions to operators for providing goods and services at the airport and leasing of space.


 Achievements: Implemented ERP software with complementing IT infrastructure, designed and procured required insurances, designed and implemented budgeting and MIS systems, prepared employee and accounting manuals and other company policies, setup strong debt collection process, secured bank finance without security and recourse, completed award of  all several commercial contracts, had all clean statutory audits,  almostclean all internal audit and state audit reports, efficiently managing the working capital, maintained cordial relationship with the Government and Shareholders. Constantly improving processing of financial and commercial transactions with sufficient internal controls but free from bureaucratic attitude.

 Smooth handover of the operation to the Gov and settlement of business value to shareholders based on a complex agreement.  


. January worked at the corporate office of Suhail Bahwan Group, the largest business house of Oman, as General Manager Finance & Accounts. Responsibilities covered of its Business Units, contributing to more than % of the groups’ turnover, and the parent company, which has most of the group’s assets, banking facilities, infrastructure, and human resources.  

 I managed deployment of surplus funds and raised short term loans, which together would be outstanding in excess of USD million at any point in time. I also managed multi currency forex requirements for import Letters of credits outstanding at any point in time not less than USD million. 

 Responsibilities also included working capital management, finalizing accounts, advising the Owners on financial matters, setting up new projects, budgeting, restructuring Group processes and modernizing computer systems. Nine managers and two Assistant Managers directly reported to me; the Finance & Accounts function has more than staff members across all concerned companies. 

 Also, comanaged the personal investments of the Group Chairman. 

 Achievements: Reduction in interest costs, reduction in manpower, setting up operating and accounting policies and procedures, YK conversion project, setting up software development centers in India and USA. I successfully implemented Oracle Financial ERP for Group Companies.

 Joined as Financial Controller for a small subset Group of companies and took over charge in late as Financial Controller for a larger Group of Companies, including the parent company. In June , became General Manger Finance & Accounts for majority of the Group Companies. 

. Three Years Dec to Dec with GE Lighting, a GE Joint Venture, having a turn over of Rs. billion operating from eighteen branches and three factories, as GE Nominated CFO. Responsible for treasury, accounts, costing, legal and secretarial matter, and IT until months before leaving. 

 Achievements: reduction in interest cost, organized offshore loans totaling US $ million, bought derivative to hedge FE risks, revamped routines and controls, improved management information reporting, reduced manpower in finance department from to in two years while business doubled. Active role in managing the partnership relation. Fresh “equity infusion” negotiation with Indian Partner. 

. Two Years and Nine Months / to / with Elpro International Ltd., a GE owned professionally managed, listed company with turnover of Rs million at Pune as Vice PresidentFinance. Responsible for treasury, accounts, costing, sales, legal, IS and secretarial functions; also planning & business development, managing public issue, product price negotiations, wage negotiations, & marketing network setup.


 Achievement: increased product profitability, reduced interest costs, started setting up new financing business, online computerization and improving manpower productivity. Selected to head finance function of a larger GE Joint Venture in India. 

. Three and Half years / to / as ManagerGroup Finance and Accounts with Pressman Group, a mid size diversified group. Responsible for organising term loans & working capital; fund management; controlling accounts & supervising secretarial work.

 Took independent charge of Leasing and Hire Purchase business in & marketing of PVC containers in . 

       Achievements:  Increased leasing business by % every year and established PVC bottles as an alternative packaging medium in Eastern India. 

Wellversed in Computer Application and Packages. Good experience in conceptualizing, designing and implementing policies & procedures, ERP system Oracle and Great Plains, and MIS.
