PROJECTS

Major Qualifying Project MQP, Worcester, MA                                                  August to March

Converted a HP diesel engine to run on waste vegetable oil and built a homemade dynamometer for it. Used labview with a data acquisition system to record all of our data. Set out to compare the effects of oil temperature and oil opacity, on engine performance. Calculated heat lost in fuel burette prior to entering engine to determine fuel entry temperature. Created D models of the engine and dynamometer setup in Pro/ Engineer. 

Interactive Qualifying Project IQP, Bangkok, Thailand                                                     January to March

Interviewed the community of Ban Nam Khem about desired tsunami mitigation methods and researched feasibility of tsunami mitigation measures.   Rallied support from government officials to aid the community of Ban Nam Khem in implementing those measures. 

Sufficiency, Worcester, MA                                                                              January to March

Created a series of thirteen acrylic paintings which tell the story of an undergraduate’s journey through WPI. The paintings ranged from ” X ” to ” X ” in size now currently on display at WPI. Welded a frame for the whole project out of mild steel. Overall dimensions of the project are about ’ X ’.
