My role as Service Engineer with Abco Kovex entailed;
Working directly with customers, travelling both north and south of Ireland.
I serviced, repaired and upgraded packaging machines and was highly involved in new installation
projects i.e. design, project management, installation and service.
In this capacity I worked with a number of external companies of all service areas both nationally
I received extensive training in Germany and Sweden in the areas of semiautomatic and fully
automatic stretch wrapping and wrapping machines.
Incorporated in these machines were:
• PLC controls
• Electric Motors
• Gear Box
• Electrical and Mechanical machines:
Chains + Pullys.
My role also involved the purchasing of all parts and machinery for the Abco Kovex plant and
worked directly with the facilities manager in the maintenance and upgrading of all electrical,
mechanical and information systems.

In my experience as an electrician I have worked in many different sites. I worked in the
commercial and Industrial end of the business were I have covered a lot of different aspects of the
electrical game such as:

. A lot of work in switch room areas

. Many different types of lighting systems.
. Worked on many comms room setups and up grades
. All different types of fire alarm systems
