Work Chronology: 

March to Present

Senior Economic Advisor, United States Department of State, Iraq

Mr. Koenig was lead the U. S. State Department Economic Development teams in Southern Baghdad and Basra.  His efforts focused on key business development initiatives including the provision of capital to large and small businesses, the restoration of infrastructure for key commercial zones, the facilitation of foreign direct investment, the mobilization of International Oil Companies IOCs and the formation of locally lead business associations.  His leadership of the economic development effort earned him the U. S. Army’s Commander’s Award for Outstanding Civilian Service. 

March to March :

President and General Manager, Brevard Truss, Melbourne Florida As General Manager, Mr. Koenig has complete operational and P&L responsibility for the company.  Specific accomplishments include:

  • Restoration of the company to profitability through a combination of revenue growth, cost and overhead reductionturning a loss into a greater than %  EBITA profit  for the last quarters.
  • Defined and implemented a VMI contract for key suppliers.
  • Development and implementation of the companies strategic and annual operating plan.
  • Recruited new sales team, reorganized entire company from a personnel and processes standpoint.

    Consulting Vice President at Harris Corporation, Microwave Communications Division MCD, Melbourne, Florida, USA. Duration of Consultancy Contract— Months.  In this role, Mr. Koenig was defined the plan for the development of sales channels, staff and support infrastructure for Harris’ microwave communications equipment sales in Europe, with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe/Russia/CIS.      

    July to September :

    Chairman, CEO Laserbit Communications, Budapest, Hungary , Time in Position Years,  LaserBit Communications Corporation is a global supplier of optical wireless laserbased broadband telecommunications equipment.  As Chairman and CEO Mr. Koenig had complete operational and P and L responsibility for Laserbit Communications. Specific accomplishments include:

  • The leadership of the total restructuring of the company.
  • Recruiting of top talent and building of an industry leading management team.
  • Development and fulfillment of complete product, marketing and distribution strategies.
  • Establishment of a team that secured a Global Leadership for Laserbit Communications in the Free Space Optic transmission systems marketplace.
  • Improvement of top line performance by a factor of x year over year for the consecutive years of his tenure.
  • Reduction of operating expense by over % over the same time frame.
  • Reengineering of all internal company processes including : manufacturing, R and D, Sales, Finance, Logistics and Marketing.

    Over the span of years, Mr. Koenig became known within the AT&T organization as a strong leader and innovator in turning around troubled and under performing areas within the company, displaying strong leadership and teambuilding skills in each international market. Mr. Koenig’s ability to enter and turn around large, strategic business units earned him increasing responsibilities and challenges as the company grew and split Lucent Technologies and Avaya.  Positions within the organization include the following: 

    August to July :

    Regional Vice President, AVAYA Communication, Formerly the  Lucent Technologies Enterprise Networks Group.  In this capacity, Mr. Koenig had complete profit and loss responsibility for the AVAYA Communication Business in the Middle East, North Africa and South Eastern Europe Region. Region consists of over employees in country offices including Riyadh, Cairo, Istanbul, Dubai, Bahrain, Athens,. Regional Revenue achievement for final fiscal year was in excess of  $ Million. Mr. Koenig: 

  • Lead the spin within the region of AVAYA from Lucent Technologies. Moved the regional HQ to Dubai and recruited a totally new team.  Provided mentorship to the team.
  • Has been a recognized authority for CRM solutions and Ebusiness throughout the region.  He has been featured in numerous trade publications and has delivered presentations at many high exposure events.
  • Has defined and implemented both personally and through team members the retooling of the sales channel to meet the new product line objectives.

        September to August :

        Vice President and Managing Director, Lucent Technologies Italy, Milan, Italy.  As managing director, Mr. Koenig has complete profit and loss responsibility for the Lucent Technologies Business Communications Systems Legal Entity in Italy.  In this capacity he managed a team in excess of associates with a revenue performance of over $ million.  Mr. Koenig: 

  • Developed the operational plans, market plans and budget plan for the country business unit.
