Page Career Highlights Director of National Operations ­ Major Health Insurance Administrator ­ Confronted with homegrown managers in a culture that resisted change, it was necessary for me to lockin on my primary objective which was to help prepare the company for the new requirements of Health Insurance Exchanges and the Affordable Care Act ACA. National Operations ­ New Ancillary Product Product was launched prematurely and lacked the operational infrastructure to adequately support an overwhelming reception in the marketplace. I immediately restructured operations; streamlined management and hired and trained effective processing, underwriting and customer care teams. IT did not provide sufficient support to automate processes as planned. Working together with the directors of Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Improvement, we developed our own manual and automated processes in order to meet growing sales demand without compromising product integrity. To prepare for public and private exchanges, I created metrics, documented processes and defined requirements. Significantly due to my leadership, the product enjoyed a very successful first year. Shared Services Operations Print ­ Mail ­ Quoting ­ Inventory ­ Fulfillment Document Imaging Efficient operation of Shared Services was critical to participation in the state exchange programs. During its sixteen year history, there had been limited changes in the business units. I analyzed all operations and implemented major changes that increased efficiencies and facilitated growth. Due to burnout at the management and employee levels, morale was a significant problem. I initiated a strategic campaign to improve the culture by creating a Vision Statement and core values. To enhance the efficiency of a new SharePoint site and proprietary dashboard, all critical functions and processes were revised; and instruction files were uploaded to SharePoint. Metrics were placed in effect to track and improve individual, business unit and departmental performance. I was successful in cutting costs for material, labor and vendor services through an aggressive program which entailed installing a new inventory control system and negotiating better prices with vendors.
