· ICT Policies and Strategies:
o o Formulated ICT Policies for two major companies: Old Mutual Kenya; and the EastCentral Africa Division office for the SeventhDay Adventist Church. Developed the Old MutualKenya ICT Strategy for the period ; and the EastCentral Africa Division of the SeventhDay Adventist Church ICT strategy for the period . The process generally involved review of the various business plans, related organizations&; ICT Strategy, and an environmental technological scan. Both Strategies were adopted by the respective Boards/Committees.
ICT Management and Operations:
o Successful Sun Systems rollout to regional offices of the Seventh Day Adventist church within East and Central Africa division; and business operation transformation in Old Mutual by successfully automating the procurement and store processes by use of Microsoft Dynamics. Through the establishment of a HelpDesk Service Unit and Systems based on ITIL V best practices framework; and the negotiation of a Service Level Agreement with the Business Units, managed to streamline the ICT support services with clear delivery expectations and measurements leading to a significant jump in business approval rating of the department. Have presented a number of papers in ICT governance frameworks COBIT, ITIL, and PRINCE II, ICT and Business alignment, and ICT auditing in a number of professional forums.
Infrastructural Developments: I have undertaken major ICT infrastructural projects as follows:
o Designed a nationwide infrastructural architecture for connecting the branch offices for Old Mutual Kenya. The design was based on an MPLS technology and earned the company the Computer Society of Kenya CSK excellence award for the years and . Developed a regional infrastructural design for the EastCentral Africa Division of the SeventhDay Adventist Church. The design consisted of the LAN architecture for the individual offices and WAN architecture for interconnectivity. Developed and implemented a campuswide information systems network for the head office of the SeventhDay Adventist Church regional office in Nairobi ECD
o DRP: Designed and implemented a Disaster Recovery concept for Old Mutual information systems based on Network Attached Storage and offsite data replication. This resulted on minimal downtimes and no loss of data for the last three years.

Planning and Budgeting: Prepare the annual ICT budgets; manage the staffing within the allocated budgets; develop, review and implement the ICT Strategic and Operational Plans; coordinate and implement the ICT components of the Management Strategic Plan; assist and provide expert technical advice in the preparation of Business Cases and Project Plans for major initiatives; and oversee the ICT programs and manage ICT projects as required. ICT Management: ICT Service delivery, systems administration, systems architecture documentation,
helpdesk management, development of ICT policies and operating procedures, and ICT Audit facilitation.
Leadership & Development of Staff: Conduct ongoing positive performance management of staff; identify individual strengths or skill gaps to facilitate personal and professional development of staff; and establish a strong communication link between staff and management.
· Service Level Agreements: Administer, negotiate and monitor ICT related agreements including formal Service Level Agreements with external service providers. · Employee Safety and Rehabilitation ESR: Implement, communicate and monitor ESR systems, policies and procedures in my department and to achieve and maintain health and safety standards.
CSK Excellence Awards: By employing the mobile telephony to serve clients and also by implementing a unique nationwide network infrastructure MPLS, we received Computer Society of Kenya CSK Excellence Awards for the Most Innovative Company in the Use of ICT in the Insurance Industry and . ICT Infrastructure Excellence: We managed in two years to transform the company&;s ICT infrastructure from an inefficient, disjointed and insecure network to a robust, efficient and secure nationwide network translating to a systems uptime average of above % from less than % in the previous years. Business Transformation through technology: I managed in the last one year to transform a number of business processes in procurement and operations by improving on the Financial System MS Dynamics Great Plains modules and servers infrastructure upgrades resulting in improved efficiency and cost management. Business Continuity: Through the implementation of Network Attached Storage NAS systems, and data redundancy through distributed servers, greatly improved systems uptime and business continuity to about % in year . Improved ICT Support Services: Through the establishment of a HelpDesk Service Unit and Systems based on ITIL V best practices framework; and the negotiation of a Service Level Agreement with the Business Units, managed to streamline the ICT support services with clear delivery expectations and measurements leading to a significant jump in business approval rating of the department. Cost Management: Through the implementation of telephone, printing and copying tracking
and reporting systems, managed to reduce costs in these areas by about % in six months.

ICT Administrator Key achievements:
Head Office Infrastructural Setup and Regional Support: Designed and implemented the Head
Office organizational LAN and WAN; Server Systems setup File/Print, Mail and Application Servers running on Windows / and supported the lower organizations in deployment and running of their office systems. The strategy was to have systems mirroring the head office as much as budgetary constraints and unique regional requirements would allow. By the time I left four regional offices had been satisfactorily set up and two had their implementation plans ready. Church Regional ICT Infrastructural design development: Designed a regional WAN infrastructure for regional church officers covering about countries in the EasternAfrica region. The design involved use of a private secure network via the public telecoms infrastructure. Sun Systems Implementation and Support: Undertook the IT implementation of the Sun Systems Software in four of our regional offices. Offering preimplementation consultancy and postimplementation support. IT Policy Formulation: In liaison with the divisional IT Committee, developed the division office IT policy document and IT policy guidelines to lower organizations. I constantly improved the policy to reflect changes in strategic plans and technologies.
