EXPERIENCE State of Alabama, Department of Education Account Clerk I/II March , to April , Primary function was to make changes or corrections to a prepayroll received from the State Comptroller&;s office by additions to payroll for new employees, deletion from payroll for transfers, retirements, or resignations, or leave without pay. Other changes included name changes, tax or retirement coding and insurance and miscellaneous deduction changes. After converting to the GHRS pay systems, duties included keying into GHRS all corrections and changes for all Federally funded payrolls with a nd level of approval. ESMT, AGYS, EFT, PENS and other screens were used to key in payroll accounting information. These changes were made according to documentation received from employees, State Personnel rules and regulations, division directors, fiscal procedures, and departmental rules and regulations for processing employee payroll checks. In addition to the payroll duties, I also processed by batching or correcting or adjusting leave forms and leave reports. One important duty was to maintain any employee on longterm LWOP to adjust leave progression dates. Also record maintain for advance sick leave repayment. Duties that was personnel related, but performed in the accounting section, included checking GHRS ESMT screen and SDE payroll database list or personnel cards so that performance appraisal lists could be properly sent out to the division or section supervisor to rate employees. The performance appraisals and list was checked for accuracy of social security number, name, classification, rate of pay, step of pay, and status of employee; such as resignations, retired, new employee transfer, promotion delete from raise list, add to probation lists, or employee transferred out. Documents checked to determine if an employee is currently eligible to be on the raise or denial lists following guidelines of the State Personnel Department. Created and maintained new employee packages given to new employees. Assist new/current employees at my desk or by phone in completing personnel/payroll forms such as tax forms, insurance forms, retirement forms, personal data sheet, employment verification forms comp time agreement forms, drugfree workplace pamphlet, I form, procedures and policy manual receipt, name and address forms, direct deposit application forms, all deduction forms, selective service information forms, and information related to employment with the agency. EXPERIENCE State of Alabama, Department of Environmental Management Clerk Steno I and II August , to March , Steno I Record bacteriological results of water for over community trailer parks and noncommunity restaurants, rest areas, campgrounds, schools, etc. public water systems for determining their compliance with the maximum contamination levels for coliform bacteria and monitoring requirements for coliform set by the Safe Drinking Water Act. Systems are required to collect and submit a minimum of two samples to an approved bacteriological laboratory for analysis.
