|Personal statement |I am a young industrious and self motivated community developer with good |
| |interpersonal and communication skills. I have a vision of working with |
| |professionals from any corner of the country and the world in the field of |
| |environment and community development. A rich combination of talents and |
| |experiences, I bring valuable expertise as an African Union Youth volunteer|
| |to the host organization. |
| Voluntary Work |Since January , volunteered with African Youth Initiative for Climate |
|Experience: |Change Kenya AYICCKenya as the coordinator of the Environmental |
| |Education working group. Tasks included coming up with nonformal |
| |curriculum for environmental education that we used to educate community |
| |groups, organizations and schools on climate issues and environment as a |
| |whole. Also volunteered with the Missionary Community of St. Paul the |
| |Apostle MCSPA in the larger Turkana district. This involved supervision |
| |and monitoring of the development projects in the area that were initiated |
| |by the missionary community like the earth and rock dams that ensures water|
| |security for the people in this semiarid community. I am also a volunteer |
| |with Sub Sahara Environmental Foundation SSEF as the financial secretary |
| |where my duties consist of funding proposal writing, ensuring |
| |sustainability of the projects we engage in and marketing the relatively |
| |young environmental group. Took part with the UN Cares Team in organizing |
| |the campaign against HIV/AIDS stigma held at the UN workplace in Kenya for |
| |the UN staff. This included the new media campaign and nonformal sessions |
| |to sensitize the UN staff on the dangers of stigma under the theme, “Stigma|
| |is the number one Killer of HIV positive people”. |
