• Worked on projects to identify the lifecycle stages of mouse hookworm model,
Heligmosomoides polygyrus, to get an idea of what stage the protein, HpFAR, is produced and
gain insight as to the stage of the parasite that the vaccine should be directed against
• Performed sitedirected mutagenesis on parasite gene to alter its ability to parasitize its host
• Established and maintained a database created using responses from survey carried out in
Bangladesh to evaluate the impact of knowledge about prevention practices on hookworm
infections
