  • Analyze loss runs and calculate accruals and loss triangles. Review and dispute commercial audits for GL, WC, and Auto. Experience with RIMS systems and reconciling locations.
  • Compile preliminary numbers for promulgating experience modification, and order worksheets from the National Council on Compensation Insurance for department associates.
  • Assist in the client’s yearly renewal process including AutoID cards and certificates of insurance. Set up client manuals and update summaries. Complete thorough policy checks. Order appropriate changes and corrections from carriers. Additional activities include:
  • complete exposure checklist; create/update coverage specifications
  • deliver/present submissions to markets and participate in negotiations
  • review quotes and prepare proposal; participate in renewal presentation to client
  • bind coverage with underwriters prior to expiration
  • Update specifications and application/summary to reflect changes during the year.

  • Reviews information received for appropriate authorization or referral to other Pinnacol resources i.e. team Nurse, Claims Representative, Physician Advisor or others as required by Pinnacol Utilization Management Program, DOWC Rules of Procedure and documented Best Practices.
  • Reviews and compares provider treatment plan to evidencebased best practices protocols through use of IHQ and DOWC treatment guidelines. Approves all acceptable treatment with medical providers that are consistent with appropriate protocols. Communicates any deviation from best practices to team nurse to achieve reconciliation.
  • If an acceptable treatment plan cannot be negotiated, then, case will be transferred to the nurse/adjuster team. If treatment deviation involves a member of Select Net with contractual medical management obligations, refers the case to Pinnacol Provider Relations department.
  • Sets initial reserves, maintains current and accurate reserves for all cases assigned, utilizing appropriate resources as necessary, i.e., claims representatives and nurses. Reviews medical reports and compares provider treatment plan to evidencebased best practices protocols through use of DOWC treatment guidelines.
  • Facilitates returntowork for indemnity claims and medical only claims turning lost time by working with policyholder and returntowork specialist.
  • Supports new business acquisition with an essential role in proposal presentations to prospective customers along with other team members.
  • Supports business retention by actively communicating with policyholders and agents and by actively contributing to interdepartmental customer service teams.
  • Attended over classes from computer systems to medical education and volunteered over . hours in the community.
