Position: Court Security Specialist
November Present
I work in the capacity as an armed Court Security Officer for the United States Marshals
Service. I am responsible for the public safety of citizens and employees who enter into D.C.
Superior Court. I provide security checks to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic that enter into D.
C. Superior Court Complex.
January – January
While working with the United States Marshall Service, as an armed Court Security Officer, at
the United States Courts of Appeal for the th District, I provided physical security protection
and escort for five presidential appointed judges. I also provided building and staff security. I
had authority that enabled me to enforce federal law on the premise, the inspection of packages
that entered the building with the assistance of electronic xray equipment and security during
courtroom hearings.
April – May
While acting as a Sergeant/Senior Corporal during my tenure with the Prince George’s Police
Department, I handled the career development and growth of the younger officers in the areas of
integrity, problem solving, street survival, report writing, teamwork and investigations. I also,
was assigned with Special Operations Division Tactical Unit which handled special events.
As Security Coordinator at the County Administration Building, I had supervisory
responsibilities in managing, maintaining payroll and coordinating employees for the physical
security of the County Administration Building days a week and hours a day. I also assisted
the Executive Protective Unit with the physical security of the County Executive.
While TDY to District III, I handled the position of a Cold Case Investigator. I was assigned
open courier robbery cases. During my tenure, I successfully closed cases with numerous
arrests and successful convictions.
As a member of the Criminal Investigative Division, I served as an investigator.
My experience in C.I.D. involved the investigations and identities of individuals involved in
felonious crimes. I maintained investigative files, initiated arrest warrants and I provided
courtroom testimonies. I worked jointly with federal agencies FBI, ATF, and DEA. While
assigned to C.I. D., I became a Certified Instructor. I provided the Recruit Academy and the
Assistant States Attorney Grand Jury Office with an overview on the elements of sexual assault
crimes.
While TDY to the Personnel Department, I was a Background Investigator. I assisted the
personnel department with investigating and qualifying candidates desiring to become police
officers.
I served as a Narcotic Officer. I gathered intelligence information via citizens’ complaints of
narcotic activity, prior criminal arrests, informants, and surveillance. Search and arrest warrants
would be prepared and executed. Suspects were arrested and processed into the criminal justice
system.
While employed with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, I was assigned to
the Revenue Collection Unit. I handled the physical security, collection and treasury deposit of
currency and coins. Also, as a Transit Police Officer, I was trained and granted the authority to
protect the citizens who utilized the public transit system in the District of Columbia, Maryland
and Virginia.
While serving in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, I handled the security
protection of various military installation, equipment, personnel and sensitive areas.
