I have had the opportunity to work in the Litigation, Commercial and Conveyancing Departments. My responsibilities, among others, included;
Drafting My duty was to draft various applications necessary for particular case files and also to draft opinions of various ongoing cases handed to me by Advocate.
Research During this time I was able to gain considerable experience in doing research on various cases and producing clear, well written summaries of case law. I improved my writing skills and gained experience in working with word applications as well as Excel Spreadsheets.
Attending Court Sessions: During this time, I accompanied Advocate to Court whenever we had an ongoing case. My duty was to take notes as the case progressed. I summarized these notes into attractive formats for the client file and as a follow up by Advocate handling the case file.

Iseme, Kamau & Maema Advocates
I worked as a student intern and was attached to the Litigation, Conveyancing and Commercial Departments.
My responsibilities among others included;
Drafting: I gained considerable experience in drafting various legal applications and documents as well as court pleadings.
Opinion writing: I had the opportunity to draft opinions on quantum and liability. I also gained considerable experience in writing opinion on case law.
Research: I was able to gain considerable experience in research of various case law and statutes applying in various jurisdictions.
Interpretation of Statute: I gained considerable knowledge on interpretation of statute and case law.

Student Correspondent Campusvybe
During this time I had the opportunity to work with Campusvybe, now an affiliate of East Africa Magazines. I worked as a Student Correspondent representing Catholic University in events as well as creating awareness to the students on any events held by Campusvybe.
* May July
During this period, I was attached to the following Courts:
* High Court Anti corruption Court under Senior Principal Magistrate Hon. Mrs. R.E Ougo.
* Milimani commercial law Courts under resident Magistrate Hon. Mr. Ole Keiwua.
My duties included:
Research: Legal research on authorities and precedence
Writing judgments: I was able to draft numerous hypothetical judgments on ongoing cases.
* February March
During this time I acquired considerable sales and promotional experience while promoting Nivea for Men Aftershaves and Shaving Foams for Beiersdorf East Africa. I learnt how to market aggressively and directly to customers and how to ad lib when customers asked impromptu questions on the product.
* December November
I had the opportunity to work with Shetlands enterprisesa privately owned home development and home management company as an administrative assistant. My responsibilities among others included: Office management and clerical work, maintenance of key account customer databases, build and maintaining effective customer relationship, data entry.
* February Date.
East Africa School of Management
Diploma Certified Public Secretary CPS. This is in order to acquire skills to work at management levels. The course lasts for months.

I completed a postgraduate diploma in partial fulfillment to qualify as an Advocate.
