I am an experienced Sales & Business Development Professional with a year successful career in Business Development, Key Account Management and Sales Management. I have strong business networks at operational to C Level that will enable me to positively contribute with any organisation. 

Most recently working for Bureau Veritas Minerals Coal Division, as National Sales and Business Development Manager, reporting to the Global VP Coal. As a member of the Executive Team for the Division FTE, I had overview of: Sales & Marketing P & L, Coaching for our Operations Managers & Branch Managers, Overview of Strategic Opportunities and pipeline, Bid and RFP coordination, and contracts management for key clients.  

Previously I was engaged with Shell as Senior KAM Mining, with a focus on key clients.  My role was to coach our technical and sales teams on client management and value delivery via engineering services and product support provision, and to pursue growth through identifying organic opportunities within the portfolio and leading tender bid activities.  

I thrive on providing business leadership, and enjoy the challenges of generating growth for business.

KEY EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITY  
  • Achieved st place in the Shell Global Sales st Ladder for Australia and represented Australia at the Global Winners Sales Conference in Greece.
  • Introduced sales culture, sales processes and focus to Bureau Veritas National network of Coal Testing and Analysis facilities.

    May – August          National Sales & Business Development Manager – Bureau Veritas

        

    Reporting to the VP, as a member of the Executive Team for the Minerals Coal Division, I was responsible for the Sales Coaching of our Operations Managers and their Branch Managers, and management of the relationship between Bureau Veritas Mineral Coal and a core group of mining clients. Services provided included Coal Quality Analysis & Environmental Monitoring & Analysis of Water, Air & Dust.

    Working in the Mining & Construction team, I was responsible for the management of the commercial and technical relationships between Shell and a core group of mining clients. 

    Responsibilities:

  • Business development of strategic opportunities in portfolio.
  • Management of Key Accounts including Rio Tinto, Vale Australia, Macarthur Coal, John Holland, Huddys Mining Services, Xstrata.
  • Coaching & driving of Account Managers & Technical team on Shell value delivery programs

    Key Achievements:

  • Achieved st place in the Global Sales st Ladder for Australia and represented Australia at the Global Sales st Winners Conference “Champions Arena” in Athens, Greece. Wins that contributed to my attaining st place were the leading of bid activity, signing and implementing AU $M of new business in : RTCA Clermont Coal, Macarthur Coal and Huddys Mining services.
  • Successfully led bid team for Xstrata EOI for AU $M. This involved managing key stakeholders internally across several lines of business and externally with Xstrata. Task included managing senior management steering committee, and bid team engagements. Conducting workshops for KAMs and other stakeholders. Running strategy sessions. Engaging with colleagues from commercial fuels, legal, credit, pricing and marketing. Managing site survey teams nationally and working with stakeholders on bid responses and presentation road shows.
  • Lead KAM for Vale Australia. Shell was awarded global supply in October . My role was to manage the HO relationship, and drive site by site implementation with the assigned Account Managers and technical team. Liase with the Global KAM to ensure a seamless implementation.
  • Awarded Special Recognition Award for my work with Rio Tinto bid team in my previous role as Rio Tinto QLD KAM.
  • Shell Value Improvement program – $ . M in Value projects agreed to and signed off by customers for commercial initiatives.

    March to December     Key Account Manager Rio Tinto QLD  

    Working in the Lubricants Mining & Construction team, I was responsible for the management of the commercial relationship between Shell and Rio Tinto’s East Coast Coal and Bauxite Operations.  

    Key Achievements:

  • Awarded Special Recognition Award for coordinating credit, legal and other lines of business ensuring collection of $ million legacy debt was achieved without protracted legal activity.
  • Establishment of Rio Tinto/ Shell joint site steering committees to ensure joint accountability of KPIs and achievement of value improvement programs.
  • Establishment of quarterly review process both at site and corporate levels to ensure KPI accountability for Shell and Rio Tinto.
  • Coaching & driving of Technical team on Shell value delivery programs for Rio Tinto.
  • Leading technical team consisting of field engineers to ensure effective communication, sharing of best practice and learnings, and replication of projects across all Rio sites.
  • Maintaining close relationships with key corporate stakeholders who critical to Shell success.  These included Value in Use VIU Specialists, Technical & Innovation Group Procurement, and Shared Services.
