    Job Description

    . Responsibility in the development of hard disk drive test rack. The test racks which are known as XCalibre and Optimus consist of automation, cooling unit and testing module. So the main job role is to design the plastic injection and sheet metal parts.

    . All the design activities are done by using the D CAD software, Solidowrks and engineering analysis such as stress, load, vibration analysis are done by using Cosmosworks. Product and assembly stackup tolerance study is done for critical product design.

    . Responsible to conduct functional testing, product reliability study, verified and qualified the final product design.

    . Responsible for thermal, flow and dynamic analysis to the design, conduct testing and troubleshoot the thermal, flow or vibration issues occurred in products.

    . Involved in sustaining of legacy products. D methodology is used to investigate the issues happened to the products, provide the short term and long term solutions, data collection, testing, evaluation the solution and qualified the result.

    . Application of DFMEA and feasibility design to products. 

    Design Experience

    . Design and develop the "blind mating" feature for the bench top tester. The blind mate is a feature where a connections can be plugged and secured precisely blindly. This is a critical feature which required precise calculation by using stackup tolerance and robust design due to impact hitting of the male and female parts.

    . Involve in the redesign of a complex assembly by using the DFMA methodology, improved the design for top down assemble process, merge design and reduce components used.

    . Involve in the design of critical jig with precise tolerance control and good fitting during assembly.

A detail evaluation of the plastic part design such as part checking, draft analysis and sink mark detection to be done before tooling design process. Part design problem list, proposal & solutions for the appropriate problems to be submitted to customers.
  • To rebuild customer's design with controlled tolerance to ensure easiness of tuning for precision parts after molded.
  • Design the tooling by using D software, Pro Engineer & prepare General Assembly. Prepare detail drawings of plates, inserts & components for internal machining CNC, EDM & fitting, suppliers & subcons.
  • Prepare complete schedule for each project from design, machining process until mold fitting.

    Final year Project

        I completed my final year project which titled “Magnetic Sensor for Heading Determination” for the fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering, University Putra Malaysia UPM.

        This project suggested to use the Honeywell HMC magnetic sensor to measure the Earth’s magnetic field for determining the heading direction. The magnetic sensor senses the horizontal component of the earth’s magnetic field and then generates the output voltage for heading. It still can provide good accuracy and safety for the pilots by using this magnetic sensor to provide heading outputs for the small aircrafts.

        In this project, I need to study the characteristics of the earth's magnetic field. From the behavior of the magnetic field, design a simple circuit to determine the heading output. The simple circuit able to amplified the magnetic field's voltage signal and filter the undesired high frequencies.
