Manufacturing Process Engineer,  

Responsible for manufacturing processes at a Tier I and supplier of automotive vehicle sealing components to improve process productivity, quality, efficiency, and to reduce costs, downtime, production time cycles, and scrap.  Responsible for process improvements in profile extrusion process and assembly finishing departments reducing scrap, downtime of equipment, improve change over time, improve productivity and quality of product. Programs assigned to include General Motors, Dodge, Ford, Freightliner, Honda, Saturn and Nissan. 

Duties 

Performed work flow studies of operators and machines to produce the desired product and determine the optimum ways to combine operators, machines and methods to be used. 
Supported manufacturing process, including tracking data, equipment monitoring, maintaining documentation, process improvement and process development. 
Process startup, troubleshooting and optimization of plastic and rubber compression, transfer and injection molding presses.

Headed up technical project teams, as well as participated in various team meetings involving scrap reduction, performance, D, lean, continuous improvement, problem solving, quality, and production.  
Performed root cause analysis of equipment failures, corrected repeated equipment failure problems and performed equipment performance evaluations. 
Performed time motion study, process work flow analysis examining and interpreting data to improve efficiency, effectiveness and cost reduction of new or existing products. 
Requested price quotes for new equipment, tooling, parts, service and modifications for existing equipment.
