Oct – Dec  POSITION: Geophysical Manager

      LOCATION: Oslo, Norway 

  • I joined RXT at the startup of its first OBC operation in GoM, USA. Spent the first year onboard setting up the QC group.
  • End of I moved onshore as head of Geophysical/QC Dept.
  • Responsible for all crews approx. personnel including recruitment, appraisals and promotions.
  • Deliver marketing presentations and client workshops.
  • Directly involved in tenders and startup meetings.
  • OBC survey design: personally redesigned a DC survey in the Caspian Sea improving acquisition efficiency by %; also a DC test acquisition offshore Abu Dhabi.
  • Technical Project Manager: for AgipKCO Kashagan DC and ADMA DC test surveys.
  • Responsible for geophysics training within the Geophysics dept.
  • Responsible for the development of the QC/QA manual.
  • Responsible for the purchase/development of software and hardware. Personally revamped the processing platform onboard with improvements to data flow/QC of %.

    –  POSITION: Area Geophysicist

          LOCATION: Almaty, Kazakhstan 

  • Area Geophysicist for the remote processing center in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
  • We set a record in Kazakhstan processing sq.km. of seismic including PSTM for the first time with the Kalamkas survey. Included refraction statics applied to towed streamer data in m shallow water.
  • I conducted a pilot study researching refraction statics vs. tomostatics for a consortium of oil companies.
  • Some land processing with refraction statics across marsh and hilly terrain. Included uphole data, phase matching of sources.
  •  

    –  POSITION: Processing Manager

          LOCATION: Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. 

  • Manager of a group of geophysicists. Primarily responsible for client communication, geophysical integrity, QA, project scheduling, and forecasting of resources.
  • The center initially supported the OBC crew acquiring the Zakum survey offshore Abu Dhabi. The shore support involved positioning QC, a major issue in these shallow waters with strong currents.
  • Successfully processed several large land and TZ processing contracts from ADCO, including Rumaitha & Al Dhabb’iya D surveys. Included sand dune statics with upholes, phase matching of sources & sensors.
  • Processed D surveys from Dubai and Omanbased oil companies.
  • Responsible for office finances and monthly forecasts. Responsible for submission and collection of invoices.
  • Assigned as Security Designate for PGS in Abu Dhabi, responsible for safety measures & evacuation procedures.
