Events Coordinator
March to Present
I am currently working for The Chamber as part of a team organising very large diary of events. I
am involved in the event planning from start to finish including acquiring quotes from a number of
different venues, organising contracts and the booking of venues, taking and processing
bookings for the event and seeing the event through to the end by producing profit and loss
accounts for a number of the events. I regularly communicate with venues, delegates, speakers
and event staff. I ensure all documentation is sent out to delegates including venue and event
information. Weekly we can have as many as events in our calendar.

Whilst working at Next I was a valued member of a large team. As part of my job I experienced
both front of house customer facing roles and back of house stock management and
replenishment roles. I would approach customers to ensure that their shopping experience was a

Whilst working at Argos I had very similar roles to that of Next but also I was able to gain
valuable experience within the Customer Service department dealing with customers, returns and
complaints. This role taught me how to deal with difficult situations in a professional manner. My
aim was to ensure all customers were fully satisfied. My manager at Argos also received a letter
from a customer whilst working there, stating how I had been extremely helpful towards her.

I worked for one year with a number of different departments and projects within the Alcohol
Team. I was required to undertake general administration duties, such as, filing, photocopying,
emailing, and faxing; as well as taking telephone enquires and giving appropriate advice. I was
required to correspond both in writing and verbally with clients, other health professionals and the
local police force. As the alcohol referral scheme was initially a pilot scheme I personally set up a
database to hold all client data, and daily input new data. I was sent on a course to improve my
newsletter writing skills which I used to increase awareness of the scheme.
Working on numerous projects meant I had to prioritise my workload; I had to be organised,
especially when working under pressure.
Personal Statement
I am a conscientious target driven achiever with a positive and confident attitude. I am an
experienced communicator with the ability to converse both in person, over the phone and in
writing including emails. I am confident using MS Office packages including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. In my current role I use Captavia and Quartz on a daily basis
to keep databases of events and produce receipts and reports.
Interests and Activities
I am currently a member of British Military Fitness, which I attend times a week. I also love
different forms of dance and attend classes as much as I can at my local dance school. I am
currently taking short courses at Stockport College to improve my French, with the hope of soon
studying for a qualification in French as a second language.
