Key roles and responsibilities include:

Recruitment and selection, and induction of national international staff and consultants

Ensuring all HR and Administration policies are in place and up to date and compliant with Liberia labour law, and with Save the Children global minimum standards and donor requirements

Providing HR support and advice to managers and staff on all aspects of HR, ensuring compliance with policies and that the country programme maintains best HR practice standards

Take lead on implementation of performance management, ensuring improved capacity of staff

Lead on the development of the country HR strategy as part of the overall country strategy

Implement the Learning and Development Plan

Conduct skills audit of staff and the organizations

Conduct salary survey

coordination, production and use of training materials to ensure their consistency

Monitor and track staff taking online University courses

Promote Labour compliance with local authority

Key Achievements: Managed to handle complex and sensitive HR issues in a complex post conflict environment to ensure HR was in line with the country programme's strategic direction gradual transition from emergency to development phase.  This included undertaking of several restructuring exercises, and strengthening of HR systems.  Other key achievements include improved recruitment and selection processes more transparency and quality, induction, improved staff records, and performance management.  There has also been an almost % reduction of employment legal cases against Save the Children because of compliance with HR minimum standards and improvement in all aspects of HR.  Through training and coaching staff perception has changed from viewing performance review as a tool for punishing staff to something positive and valuable for their learning and development.

The programme started getting very positive feedback from interviewees from both successful and unsuccessful candidates about how well organized and transparent the interview process was

Successfully coordinated and implemented an organizational restructuring project and put in place job profiles for over staff, and recruited staff internal and external for the new structure and this contributed greatly to improved individual staff and overall organizational performance.  This exercise included a review of the organization structures, developing new job profiles, job evaluation, and grading, salary structure, training and development needs analysis.
