    National Sales Manager 

    Basic Function:

    Responsible for providing effective and sound distribution strategies. Prepare aggressive plans which to react to market developments, market share, brand assessment, positioning, merchandising, training. Provide analytical support for pricing, forecasting, for respective sales regions, budgeting and developing tactical marketing and promotional plans. 

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    Develop and operated a national distribution set up. This involves: 

  • Organize and direct merchandising and sales promotion program, including POS material, media advertisement, free samples ..etc
  • Audit current distribution network which includes van sales, credit sales, merchandising, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Identify weak links in distribution network. Working out corrective actions to strengthen those links through improvement of sales policies and procedures, training and / or hiring qualified staff.
  • Develop efficient system of sales staff incentive and appraisal of performance in coordination with Human resources Department.
  • Prepare necessary periodic reports to Managing Director. Discusses problem arising, including sales operations, strategic developments. Works out solutions.
  • In coordination with sales executives, prepare annual sales manning plan.
  • Develop company's strategic sales approach, van distribution, and market sectors.
  • Prepare the sales section of the company's Five Year Plan.
  • Prepare sales annual business plan by product by region /area.
  • Supervise and lead sales managers/ supervisors. Assign sales targets for each one of them. Scrutinize sales reports, identify variance from business plan and work out corrective actions with concerned manager/supervisor.
  • Evaluate performance of sales managers/ area sales supervisors, make recommendations with regard to granting awards, promotions or terminations.
  • Periodically visit sales regions/areas to ensure that merchandise is properly distributed and displayed.
  • In accordance with promotional plan, work out with Marketing Coordination manager promotional items to buy from local or international sources.
  • Ensure that promotional activities are within approved budget.
  • Ensure that promotional campaigns are properly organized and executed as per set plan.
  • Ensure that market is properly covered by salesmen and all potential customers are assigned.
  • Personally solicit major prospects.
  • In coordination with Finance Director, approve quotations for large sale projects/contract.
  • Ensure that production and demand/sales forecasts are properly coordinated with Director of Production. Prepare sales forecasts to assist production planning. Decide on production priorities.

    Achievement:% market share growth in the diapers category in Saudi Arabia.
