The company was the fourth largest exporter in Per† with employees spread over three different
departments.
Responsible to maintain company management abreast of all issues related to security.
Responsible for the management of three security departments and two exploration
projects, a total of people spread out in diverse and remote areas in Per†.
Developed an annual budget that enhanced security but reduced overall costs.

Evaluated the losses occurring due to employee theft and instituted numerous programs

exports were certified free from drugs.
Developed and implemented a protection program for company copper concentrates en
route from the mine to the Lima warehouse and from the warehouse to the export
shipping location. The program’s design was to reduce pilferage losses of copper
concentrates en route. Before implementation of the program trucks carrying the
concentrates arrived at the Lima warehouse underweight % of the time. After

Developed and implemented a standard method of securing and sealing the copper
concentrates in the various trailers used by the shipping subcontractors so as to be
more difficult to pilfer en route.
Designed and implemented an increased use of a video monitoring system at the smelter
and mine to reduce the number of guards on site. This program reduced the amount of
employee theft and did so at a lower cost.
Conducted security risk assessments of the company office space, manufacturing, and distribution
facilities.
Managed all internal company investigations relating to theft and worker or sub
contractor fraud.
Developed an internal Public Relations Plan designed to reduce employee theft. The
plan was modeled after the company’s successful Public Relations Plan to improve
worker safety and reduce on the job accidents. The plan resulted in worker awareness
of internal theft and generated many leads that helped recover company property.
Integrated the work of the Community Relations Department and the Security
Department.
Developed community relations programs in the remote areas of Peru that improved the
relations between the company and the inhabitants.

Produced a biweekly Intelligence Assessment that kept company management abreast
of the narcoterrorist situation in the area around the copper mine. The Intelligence
Assessment focused on the locations of base camps, drug smuggling routes, locations of
labs, identification of key narcoterrorist personnel and their current location, local
government corruption, and narcoterrorist probable courses of action.
Developed programs and strategies based on the Intelligence Assessments to counter
the narcoterrorist’s activities to disrupt company operations.
Coordinated with host nation military and police units to carry out operations in the area
around the company copper mine to keep the area free from the influence of the narco
terrorists.
Provided a copy of the Intelligence Assessment to host nation military and police units in
support of a government sponsored ongoing antidrug operation in the area where the
company copper mine was located.
It should be noted that prior to my arrival the narcoterrorists routinely attacked the mine,
killed employees, blockaded traffic and stole food, medical supplies, radio equipment,
and copper concentrates. After initiating my program all of the above activities stopped
and the mine became more productive and profitable.
Developed and initiated a program to protect sensitive company information from
business espionage.
Developed executive protection and evacuation plan.
Able to read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently.
Conducted all meetings, and produced all reports in Spanish.
