March

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am interested in working as a Bartender for your organization.

As a Bartender with your organization, I would bring a greater  focus on providing accurate product knowledge, item pairing, and suggestive selling to our guests so that while engaging the customers; I can ensure their excitement for the beverage and dining menu items which leads to better enjoyment and sales overall.

In addition to the previously mentioned skills, I am also capable of creating innovative drinks, menu item specials, and event promotions that will compliment our existing menu and possibly add to our current customer base, if requested.

By becoming a Bartender with your organization, I am confident I can further ensure the high standards of excellent customer service, diligence, safety and compliance required by this organization and I work well with others.  In addition to my bartending skills I am also a cook with baking training as well.

Currently, I am living in the Vancouver, Washington area, but I am willing to relocate for the right position. I can be reached by way of email at or call or and I will respond as soon as possible.

Questions & Answers:

Describe your ability to solve problems in the workplace.

When problem solving at work or any other place, I try to examine all of the available sides of the problem carefully and strive to find a winwin solution. I feel I am very competent at doing so.

Describe your management style.

I would describe my management style as more of a working coach and mentoring style, rather than I'm a manager hear me roar and hide in the office type. All of us are here to get our hands "dirty" by working; leading by example is the best way to ensure that all of us do. When your team sees that you're willing to do what they're being asked, they'll step up and do you proud, or you'll see who's ready to leave.

Have you ever managed a project for your previous employer? What was the result?

I was responsible for creating a Valentine's event for a bar I was working at in the Seattle, WA area. I created a contest for that night and solicited prizes from the neighboring businesses and even got a few of them to be judges along with the bar's owner. Everyone had a great time, and the business people even became regulars along with their staff as well.

How do you deal with difficult people?

When dealing with a difficult person, I try to first understand what their issue is by listening carefully. Then I try to use a little humor to ease the tension off of the situation and work with them to find a winwin solution.

How do you measure the success of your work?

My success is measured by the mutual satisfaction of both my customers and my management team. When they are satisfied with my performance, I've had a great day.

How much experience have you had with computers?

I've had a moderate amount of computer experience in using various Point of Sale systems and Office programs to ensure proper cash and asset management. I am not an expert, but I feel I have a good foundation to learn a lot more.

How would you rate your communication skills?

I would consider myself an above average communicator when dealing with a variety of different people.

Tell me how you would handle multiple projects in the job.

I would start by prioritizing the projects first, and then find ways to perform tasks that would eliminate multiple projects if possible. Then I would work as hard as I could
