MiDCOM is the largest retail and distribution partner NOKIA for entire East and
West Africa having its operations in nine countries. Recently expanded to
Electronic distribution of airtime of various GSM mobile operators in Uganda.
In April Midcom ventured into the Electronic Voucher Distribution EVD
System with technology partners Total Tel International and Estel
Technology from Australia and India and launched Midcom Eazy where I have
established an IT enabled transaction and payment processing platform for
electronic delivery of prepaid airtime, prepaid services and payment
management services.
In the first year of its launch we have spread its retail network to outlets
which are expanding rapidly and would be doubled by this year end. On an
average everyday consumers in Uganda are accessing Midcom Eazy
outlets.
Prime Responsibilities a Nokia Handsets
Heading the overall operations of Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi with prime
focus on sales with a team of people.
Besides managing sales I am looking after the overall operations with different
departments including Marketing, Accounts, Logistics and Administrations.
Managing the Nokia care Service Centre for providing service and warranty to
the customer.
Setting up deals with GSM operators for building volumes and ongoing
revenue shares on the usage.
Inventory planning and ordering with Nokia for maintain the required inventory
across all the countries.
> Planning and executing joint promotional campaigns in press as well as outdoor
media.
> Managing the supply chain of our own operated Depots, Super dealers, channel of
retailers, Priority Dealers and Nokia Concept Stores.
> Set up new Nokia Concept Stores and making the sales process for monitoring
them for complete branding, infrastructure and their returns on investment.
> Handling the price strategy on daily basis depending on the $ rate fluctuation and
stocks coming through grey channel.
> Managing direct corporate sales and through operators for high end handsets.
Prime Responsibilities b Airtime Electronic Distribution
Involved in the project from the day one right from studying the African
market, development of the application accordingly, installation of the servers
and finally doing the testing.
Retail presentation and enrollment of retailer for selling airtime through EVD
platform.
Provide regular training to sales team and to the retailers.
> Done the corporate agreements with retail chains Shell, Total Petro stations, including
Govt. agencies like Postal services, parking ticket selling offices for selling the EVD
services and increasing the revenues on both sides.
> Working with channel partners of various GSM operators to penetrate the market
more effectively.
> Achieved the retail base from zero to and sales turnover of USD per
month.

Oxigen Services India is a joint Venture between Indian and South African
Partners. The primary focus of Oxigen Services India is on the electronic
distribution of prepaid airtime of several leading GSM and CDMA mobile
operators and of other services like Pay TV, ITZ card , etc on a web enabled
single platform. Currently Oxigen is operating with terminals with a
monthly turnover of USD Million.
Prime Responsibilities:
Managing the sales & distribution channel of one of the largest state of North
India with a network of retailers generating annual sales of USD
million.
> Brand visibility, sales promotional activities. Outdoor & indoor visibility planning &
execution.
> Business planning & achievement revenue targets by acquisition, usage & retention
of retailers.
> Building relations with operator for the smooth supply of stocks for all
locations and getting the first hand information on any scheme and
promotion run by them so as to make the market at zero difference.
> Working with Sales Administration with internal departments like IT,
Technical Support, commercial, accounts, marketing and Pin procurements.
