Title: Cryptanalysis of IEEE .i TKIP A recently found cryptanalytic attack on the .i Temporal Key Integrity Protocol TKIP; it exploits the fact that TKIP adds the Message Integrity Code Michael primitive while maintaining the WEP checksum mechanism ICV. This backward compatibility property enables the modified "chopchop" attack to succeed for frames with mostly known plaintext, such as ARP and DHCP messages. The objective of the task was to understand this new vulnerability in TKIP, and subsequently reproduce and experimentally validate the extended attack, and finally find the new applications of the attack.
