    Performed major accounts marketing work which consisted of contract administration/pricing/sales negotiation of optical fiber cable with major ILECs, CLECs, RLECs, and CATV MSOs. Assisted Pirelli in entering the emerging FTTH market with new products including providing a new patented cable design. 

  • Directed the profitable $M investment in the broadband OEM startup company Alloptic, by leading and directing an interdepartmental team to perform the required due diligence.
  • Singlehandedly secured multimillion dollar optical fiber supply agreement from a major Bell company.

    Directed the supply operations of supply service centers across the nine state footprint of BellSouth, supplying , Network technicians and managers with their daily equipment needs for providing customer service on a justintime basis.  

  • Saved over $B in expenses by cochairing an officerdirected movement of BellSouth procurement of $M of outside plant products , which included moving M product identifiers associated with procurement to VerizonGTE Supply over two years.
  • Reduced annual overhead $M including supply stream middle manager salaries by closing three spotbuy operations, and two major company warehouses, while eliminating internal trucking, transportation, and outsourcing $M of transportation to Ryder Integrated Logistics.
  • Eliminated $M of ontheshelf supplies and tools, by leading an interdepartmental team that, that resolved core abuse problems in field inventory management, provided visibility of the users’ supply levels, and ended for theft and abuse opportunities.  Created a warehouse quick pick line to supply employees with their daily supplies on an overnight shipment basis, with , network technicians ordering their equipment daily.

    General Network Manager Network Operations   

    Directed the engineering, planning, construction, and budgeting of telephone plant and facilities and switching equipment for two million Atlanta and eastern GA customers. Managed management and nonmanagement employees in Atlanta and in Savannah/Augusta. Administered $M capex budget annually in each location.

  • Atlanta:  Supplied data and telephone services for over M access lines; engineered/constructed and delivered Summer Olympic video while managing the Atlanta market with premiere service. Supported wireless backhaul facilities to BellSouth wireless towers with both optical fiber and T carrier facilities.  Provided totally interfaced plant and digital switches to the eastern Atlanta customers, allowing next day service installation capabilities.
  • Savannah/Augusta:  Garnered $M in annual expense savings in the first year, by effectively controlling overtime and directing network engineers,managers, and technicians spread over k square miles in both large and small eastern GA towns. Managed two large engineering centers ,  a customer care center, with a $M capex budget for eastern GA. Connected M access lines to totally interfaced plant, introducing digital subscriber carrier and DSL data capabilities to all areas. Supervised xx NOC/Central Office and customer care functions for M eastern GA consumer and business customers.
  • Network Sales Support:  Participated as the technical/installation lead in all marketing/sales contacts with major BellSouth customers, including Scientific Atlanta, GA State Government, federal government installations/bases, and many Fortune customers.
  • Labor Relations:  Worked with as many as five different union presidents/locals and participated in contract negotiations, grievances, and safety investigations involving discipline.
