Manage Procurement Unit imprest , oversee the negotiation of reduced lead time and favorable terms and conditions and effective management of dead stock reduction. Assess supply/inventory options in order to determine best sourcing solutions. Interact extensively with customers, suppliers, and contractors to ensuring overall delivery of quality service and satisfaction. Maintain compliance with organizational standard and objectives. Advocated and contributed in the recruitment and mentoring of five coworkers .Supervises the Procurement Unit made up of colleagues and two National Service personnel in pursuit of efficiency and quality service for the Thermal Generation Department. Key Achievement: Successfully collated and implemented the procurement plan for two consecutive years. Effectively participated and implemented business process reengineering leading to a significant improvement and efficiency in the procurement and supply chain processes within the Thermal Generation Department. Leading the Procurement Unit to achieve total client satisfaction, by effectively liaising with endusers and suppliers of goods, services and consultancy. Timely preparation of monthly reports on procurement plans, and actuals to determine variance, and ensure compliance to expenditure forecast. Key Achievement: Advocated the setting up of a procurement unit to address Thermal Generation Department issues rather than depending on a central procurement system. Leading to a significant increase in the lead time for various procurement requirement. Reporting on weekly and monthly status of purchases Help set up the procurement unit for the Tema Thermal Power Complex. Reduced dead stock through program initiation, proactive management, effective internal and external communication and persuasive followup. Ensuring that staff within the Procurement Unit are adequately trained and encouraged to offer their utmost effort and achieving set targets.
