scope of this position is to supervise a time sensitive delivery operation.
Some of the duties and responsibilities are to:
daily guidance to employees, which includes drivers, to ensure
alignment with organizational and customer expectations
operational plans, goals for the terminal

Canada formerly DuPont Canada has become one the world’s largest
producers of polymers and fibers for the nylon, spandex and polyester
applications. Invista is a subsidiary of privately owned Koch Industries
that operates in more than countries. The Maitland facility produced
Adipic Acid, Hexomethylenediamine and Dytek® A. There are sister
plants located in Victoria Texas and Orange Texas. Safety and compliance
are critical to the safe operation of the sites due to the hazardous
nature of the raw materials and finished products.
career started out as a Chemical Operator, where I gained valuable insight
in the handling of chemicals and the safe mode of transportation. Opportunities
for self growth came my way in the form of promotion to Site Training
Coordinator, Operational Resource/supervisor, Planning/Master Scheduler,
Operational Crew Leader, Supply Chain Manager for North America and
Operational Resource, I supervised over Operations Controllers in
a continuous chemical plant operation. Tasks within the role included
day to day operation of the chemical process, crew development, operational
metrics/KPI’s, Health & Safety, Compliance, training, inventory
control, maintaining up to date SOP’s and working with maintenance
leadership on preventative maintenance.
Supply Chain Manager, I managed over byproducts with an annual sales
volume of MM/year, with revenue of $MM/year. The byproducts
involved came from the Maitland, Victoria and Orange plants. A percentage
of the byproducts were transformed into other finished products at
Tollers/Vendors located in North America. Responsibilities included
managing the Sales and Operating Plans, Contract Administrator for Tollers/Drumming
facilities/Terminals, Logistics of moving materials across North America
and to Europe, JIT deliveries, economics and analytical studies and
supervising the procurement of raw materials.
with Purchasing Group in establishing contracts and SLA’s Service
Level Agreements that were for internal services and for external production/procurement.
a project team that analyzed the transit time of containers being shipped
to China and was successful in decreasing the turn around by days.
This saved the company the lease cost and any other incremental costs
associated with logistics of additional containers $M/year
project successful in increasing a products concentration in order to
lower logistics costs. This project saved upwards of $MM over years.
with Corporate logistics project team in setting up offloading terminals
in Charlotte NC and Montreal PQ that provided a major cost saving in
logistics Rail versus Truck
a Predictive Production Model that took into account plants across
NA. This helped in determining shortfalls in production due to scheduled
outages, unscheduled outages, turn around etc.
the shipping of raw material that was not under a Permanent Classification
from EU to US Terminal, to contracted terminal and then to Invista plant
Site in Victoria.
in having a European by product produced at the Wilton plant reclassified
for shipment to NA
Supply Chain through a difficult time frame in , where all plants
were affected by one of either major equipment failures or environmental
problems hurricanes. Averted being placed in Force Majeure.
a sample labeling audit to look at labeling practices in NA and EU.
This helped in averting any issues with labels and thus delay of shipments
to the customer
with Invista R&D/Sales and Customer in order to create a blended
product that satisfied the customers need during a shortfall in product
a SME Subject matter Expert network of over people to facilitate
training needs during a time of high training
training modules for both entry orientation and for level training program.
a training scheduler that all people could utilize in order to ensure
that people received the appropriate training during a major Cultural
and Human Resources Awards of Excellence –for logistics,

must say that I enjoyed my career at DuPont/Invista. However, in late
Invista had to make the tough decision to reduce staff and cutback
on operations. At this point in my career I wish to continue somewhere
within this group of occupations; managerial, logistics, supply chain,
procurements and training.
