Asst. Manager Flight Dispatch Responsibilities . . . . Flight Dispatcher plays a vital role in the smooth functioning of Flight Dispatch; Handling disruptions effectively for both domestic and international movements due to Fog, MEL, airspace closures, etc.; Responsible for all activities in Flight Dispatch, Aircraft Movement, General Office, NOTAMS & Documentation and is in charge of the minute to minute activity of the entire network; Coordinator within the department with different sections and sub ­ sections, and with other department of the airline like Air Safety, SOCC, Engineering, Commercial / Rescheduling, In ­ Flight Services, Airport Services etc. at their various location; Resume of P.S. With outside agencies and department like Meteorological Office, ATC, Airport Authorities, Other carries, DGCA Air Safety etc. Close liaison with ATC is the sole responsibility of DM, both in normal and abnormal situations; Judiciously allocates the work for shift and prepares the work schedule for the next shift; Ensure on time movement, closely monitor the allocated work being performed effectively by teammates, also ensure that proper paper filing of flight documents is being carried out by every shift; Continuously monitor movement of flights, keep abreast of development viz. closure of airways / airspace / runways and weather etc and take appropriate actions; Keep concerned officials and concerned crew informed as may be required; InFlight assistance is to be provided to the crew in terms of timely information required by them; Acts as a media in relaying their messages to the executives of operations, etc, and vice versa; Take decisions in the best interest of the company after exploring the various factors, such as ascertaining the availability of alternate aircraft with operating and cabin crew complement and ensuring the availability of ATS, etc. OR if required over fly a station or reroute the flights to avoid major delays due crew FDTL in consultation with Commercial / Engineering; Ensuring proper briefing and entries are made in Log Book regarding rescheduling / rerouting / cancellations messages received. Scrutinize NOTAM / Weather messages received and take appropriate action; Scan the relevant files to look for any messages, which need to be actioned in the shift; Guide junior staff in performing their duties and solving their difficulties. Ensure that proper flight watch is maintained and update SOCC in time. Work out the provisional arrivals for the Operations Officer to disseminate this information, which acts as a vital input to Engineering, Crew Scheduling, Commercial, InFlight Service, GSD, in scheduling the aircraft / Crew / allocation of manpower; Take adequate precautions to correct shortcomings, in the Route manuals Jeppesen as well as other Flight manuals, if any; Anticipating delays to the flight, advise the Crew Movement personnel, to stop crew transport being released. Similarly confirm when the transport can be released. As far as possible keeping in mind the impact of these delays, inform other crew change stations or enroute stations; In case of delay likely to affect FDTL, alert the standby crew through Operations/Rostering Officers and if necessary have vehicles positioned at their residence to minimize delay and to keep in mind the further crew movements, which might be affecting, while deciding on rerouting / rescheduling / change in equipment type; Take appropriate action and follow laid down procedures in case of Bomb Threat, Hijacking Evacuation or any other abnormalities; To be aware of the entire happenings in Flight Dispatch and should be able to analyze and convey the same so as to avoid ambiguities and misunderstandings; Shall avoid taking any action that would conflict with the procedures established by ATC / Meteorological / Communication Services; Currently having approvals for Dispatch of Airbus , A, A, A Corporate Jet, and ATR , ATR . Obtained Dispatcher&;s certificate for Airbus A and Airbus from Airbus Industrie, Toulouse; Flight planning done using SABRE; Presently handling SABRE technical queries throughout airline network; Handling airline&;s both international and domestic flights, including Corporate Jet and other nonsked movements, allocated by the flight planning system based on centralised flight dispatch concept; Maintenance of ETOPS watch for our aircraft and watch on departure of outstation flights and update SOCC; New route analysis, airport analysis for new sector operations, etc.; Maintaining and updating operations documents viz. AIP, etc.; Subordinate Training and development; Visited Bangkok for Airport analysis, setting up the Operations procedure with GHA, etc. Had set up procedures for Flight Dispatch station in Mumbai station; Other additional assignments by the Management. Monitoring Weather at some critical stations during winter and suggest Control Centre with respect to delaying aircraft, etc. and accordingly delay crew reporting in order to avoid FDTL, etc. . Continuous flight watch on R/T and H/F communications through SSB and provide assistance to operating crew; . Remote dispatch of flights of some stations by providing / sending flight related documents, etc. . Done NOTAM editing for the entire network; .
